In Episode 10 of “Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga”, titled “Friends”, once certain that her mother would be safe in the hands of Rin and her friends, Izumo surrendered to the Nine-Tailed Spirit. Just like a wonderful yet tragic miracle, Izumo’s mother came back to her senses, forced the spirit into her body, and died alongside her.
When she saw how her mother died trying to save her, Izumo’s heart became much stronger, and surprisingly, Oak and Mike came back when she asked for their strength. With their help, she defeats Jadwin and wakes up in the hospital the next day. She learned from Nimue how her sister had been safe all these years under the protection of the Knights. After the chaos was resolved, she returned home with her “friends.”

After ensuring the safety of Rin’s mother and the rest of them, Izumo finally relinquishes control of the Nine-Tails and lets her take charge. Suguru asked Yukio how to expel the Nine-Tails, but Yukio replied that there was no known way to expel them. A miracle happens before the Nine-Tails can do anything terrible, and we see that Izumo’s mother has come back to her senses. She began a chant, and while Rin and the exwires kept the zombies occupied, she forced the Nine-Tails to leave Izumo’s body and return to hers again.

She knew she wouldn’t have long to live, so this was the only option she had to save Izumo. With the nine-tailed fox now inside her, she died in Izumo’s hands while all of Izumo’s misunderstandings about her mother were removed. Gideon, being as “devilish” as ever, did not care at all about this heartbreaking moment and forced himself into demonic possession. Izumo swore to kill Jadoin herself and rose up even though she had no weapons to fight with.
He surprised her at that moment, responded to her calls, and Oak and Mike returned because they were not really dead. They said that seeing Izumo’s mental state, they could give her much greater power than just dissipating a soul. Izumo started the chant while everyone protected her from Gedoin and the zombies. Once she finished her chant, Uke jumped on top of Jadwin and struck him with his lightning attack, ending the chaos once and for all.

Five years ago, Maria contacted the Knights of the True Cross, but she was killed, and Izumo was taken hostage, so Tsukumo was the only one they could save.
