Star Wars: The Bad Batch is set to return for season three. With Tech dead and Omega a prisoner of the Empire, The Bad Batch is broken. The remaining members must work with unlikely allies to save Omega and reunite the ill-fated group.
The members are set to go on a dangerous mission to rescue and free themselves from the clutches of the Empire. The series was created by Dave Filoni and developed by Jennifer Corbett, who also serves as executive producer. Two important characters, Asajj Ventress and Captain Rex, are expected to return in the third season.
In an interview with Screen Rant, actress Michelle Ang spoke about the third season of The Bad Batch. She talked about Omega’s ways of dealing with Tek’s death and imprisonment. Aang also spoke about Omega’s character development in the series and how she wants to bring the character into live-action.
Aang spoke at length about how Tek’s death affected Omega. She stated that it was a terrible thing for her to deal with as well. She revealed that there’s a lot going on in Season 3, and Omega can now do all those little tasks that technology taught her. The legacy of technology continues through OMEGA.
It’s not like we can delve into that as a story point because there’s so much going on in season three and there’s definitely a shade of that in everything. Which is kind of nice because the legacy of technology is that Omega can do all these tasks he taught her like using iPads to open doors, understand systems, and drive alien vehicles. So all the terrible training lessons technology gave her paid off in season three.
In her interview, Aang also explained whether Omega would discover the Empire’s cloning secrets. She said that Dr. Hemlock is the mastermind and keeps everything close to him. Nala Se realizes some of it but doesn’t want the omega to know more.
It’s up to Omega and The Bad Batch to find their answers themselves, and it won’t be easy. However, it is important to find these answers so that Omega realizes that they have a big role to play in the greater scheme of things.
Aang also talked about Omega’s dynamic with the crossover. Here is the quote:
Yes, of course. Good old crossover. It’s more sour than ever. Not his fault, though. He’s been through the contest and I don’t think Omega has ever given up on him, but she’s happy to know he’s there and thus will be saved by her because she obviously won’t leave without him.
Aang also said that she would like to see a realistic depiction of Omega. She pointed to shows like Ahsoka, which did an amazing job.
