NCIS Veteran Discusses Cameo in Tony & Ziva Spinoff

The oldest active cast of the NCIS series is talking about the possibility of appearing in the spinoff Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David.

Right after Michael Weatherly returned from NCIS for a Ducky tribute episode, fans received news of the actor teaming up with Cote de Pablo for a new spinoff.

The upcoming series will show the couple traveling across Europe with their daughter Tali.

Although the exact details about Tony and Ziva’s spinoff are still under wraps, rumors of their former teammates appearing are at an all-time high.

Speaking with TV Insider, Sean Murray said that Timothy McGee’s participation in the final part of the series is possible. Read his comments below:

It would be great to see Tony, McGee, and Ziva together again. Yes, it’s very possible, I’ll say that. Especially within our franchise, as I’m sure you can guess. And yeah, we like to have a good time with some of these things, and it’s all in the family, so we’ll see what happens.

Tony, Ziva, and McGee are core members of NCIS’s most iconic roster in its 20-year history. Other members who complete the team are Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), Ducky Mallard (David McCallum), Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll), Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen), and Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette).

So, there’s always a dopamine rush among die-hard fans when rumors of a potential reunion start. Fortunately, NCIS has a penchant for reunions, cameos, and crossovers, and Weatherly’s visit to the DC office is the biggest proof of that.

There are many ways the filmmakers could reunite McGee, Tony, and Ziva.

Since NCIS often introduces new shows with special episodes, their return could be just what’s needed to start a new series. Plus, it will interest more people, especially since the Tony and Ziva spinoff will be on Paramount+ instead of regular TV.

Alternatively, the new show may feature Murray as a guest. Thanks to his technical talent, he will be of great help to the duo in their new adventures.

Any reunion would be golden for fans, mainly because it’s been over a decade since Murray and De Pablo Weatherly shared screen time.

However, it would be better if NCIS could bring in more team members from the previous roster, with Harmon being a fan-favorite choice. Gibbs was like a father figure to Tony, Ziva, and McGee and the leader of the team.
