Mickey 17 is based on Edward Ashton’s 2022 novel, but it doesn’t have the same pop culture appeal as Dune, adapted from Frank Herbert’s 1965 book.

The only other film expected to be released after that is “Paddington in Peru,” which is scheduled for release on January 17. However, the film will focus on family themes and will not conflict with the dark sci-fi tone of Mickey 17.

The film follows Mickey Barnes (Pattinson), an indispensable worker on a mission to level an icy world, repeatedly facing death and rebirth.
